Overcome Neurological Challenges

Develop New Patterns for New Results

How you move and hold yourself is a habitual neurological pattern expressed both outwardly through posture and inwardly in the memory of cells and tissues that make up the organs. Without even being aware of it, your posture deeply affects the health and well-being of your “mind-body complex.”

It's TOTALLY WITHIN YOUR POWER to change the resting tone in the soft tissue but here is the catch. You must become MINDFUL of your movements because how you move and hold yourself is automatic, and dominant memory patterns are easier to do than new movement patterns.

Our work together will enable you to leave a constant state of stress behind and pop out of a Fight/Flight/Freeze mode of operating as you empower yourself to be in the direction of health and well-being. It’s truly ONE MINDFUL STEP AT A TIME.

The Secret is Postural Awareness

Sometimes we think we're sitting or standing upright when we're actually slumped or bent backwards. Realizing this lack of position sense, or kinesthetic awareness, can be surprising. At Hart Physical Therapy, many clients have had similar experiences.

Seeing before and after pictures can reveal how "off" our position sense may be. How we move and position ourselves affects our health greatly. Repetitive movements can cause micro trauma over time, leading to tissue damage and health problems.

Our brain forms memories of these "harmful" movements, leading to habitual poor posture. Without awareness of the difference, we continue these damaging habits, thinking they are normal. This can lead to degeneration, which is not a normal part of aging.

Increasing postural awareness can help improve our health. Simple kinesthetic exercises throughout the day can make a difference. Being aware of how our body is positioned, such as having our bottom out back instead of tucked under, can improve our posture and overall well-being.
